Urticaria, commonly known as hives, is a skin condition characterised by sudden appearance of red, itchy, raised welts on the skin. These welts may vary in size, change shape, and move from one area of the body to another.
Urticaria occurs due to the release of histamine and other chemicals from skin cells, leading to swelling and itching.
